The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe written by C.S. Lewis in 1950 was one of the most popular children’s book of its time.  Since the release of the novel, there have been many adaptations created across various mediums, all hoping to achieve the same amount of success as the book was able to.  This website focuses specifically on the original published text, the 2005 Disney film adaptation The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, as well as the “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe the Video Game” that followed.

An Extra FYI

There have been two other film adaptations of the original text by C.S. Lewis that were produced before the 2005 Disney Film.  The first was a an animated movie designed specifically for young children, and was produced in 1979 by Steven Melendez and the Children’s Television Workshop and was aired only on television and later on VHS.  The second adaptation was produced in 1988 by the BBC for television, and later released on DVD.  This adaptation was formed by four miniseries episodes of Narnia, ultimately breaking down the story into four parts, later combining them for the feature-length film for DVD.

As stated before, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe was the first in the Chronicles of Narnia series.  The series has seven books in total, and there are currently three Hollywood feature film adaptations available.  The first being of course The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and then The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian (2008), and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) which are adaptations of the second and third novels in the series.
